I don’t think age has anything to do with how a person handles their money responsibly. Whether you are an 18 year old or a 21 year old. A person who risks what they can for entertainment is going to be responsible at 18 and at 21. A person who plays beyond their means is going to be the same at either age as well.
I know a lot of people are going to want to argue my point, but look at it this way. There are very mature teenagers (4.0, honor students, who are involved in many activities that help the community and such. Responsible and what not). Then there are those who are not so mature and constantly get into trouble with the law, and are involved in crime. This really has nothing to do with their age, it’s just the type of people they are. So, I say yes, Nevada should lower it’s gambling age to eighteen. You can buy tobacco, porn, and are legally considered an adult at 18, so why not be able to chose how you handle your money at 18 as well? As for an answer to revenue, it is a stupid idea. The revenue is down due to people’s situation in a struggling economy. A casino is not going to change it’s odds by allowing more gamers in. So, they’re win/loss profits & loss will remain the same. They won’t be able to sell anymore alcohol with 18 year olds. So as an answer to lost revenue it doesn’t make much sense.

If they aren’t changing the drinking laws, more trouble than its worth to change the gambling laws… unless they are going to have alcohol-free casinos for 18-20 year olds to play.
